Good to know before applying

  1. To be eligible you need Japanese ability (JLPT CEFR B1 or higher = pass N2 or 104 points at N3 / EJU Japanese equivalent to 200 points / BJT 400 points / JPT 525 points). If you have had fewer than 12 years of school education, consult the Admissions Office beforehand.
  2. The university's own exam is only for the Faculties of Economics, Contemporary Policy and Management. The Faculties of Science and Pharmaceutical Sciences are only through Term I of the EJU/JLPT admission (for residents of Japan).
  3. Applicants living abroad can only take the university's own exam. The exam is held at the Saitama Sakado Campus, and the result notice is sent to your agent in Japan. The screening fee can also be sent from abroad (Flywire), with the fee paid by you; if the amount falls short, you lose your eligibility to apply.
  4. Applicants living in Japan apply at the counter only (9:00-11:00 and 12:30-17:00; not on weekends or holidays). The screening fee is paid on the day by buying a revenue stamp at the university.
  5. Declining admission: if the Certificate of Eligibility is not issued for an official reason, everything including the entrance fee is refunded. For personal reasons, everything except the entrance fee is refunded if you complete the procedure by 4 p.m. on March 31, 2027.
